State Route 6006 – Towanda, Bradford County, PA
New construction and some reconstruction of 2.7 miles of roadway in the Towanda Borough and North Towanda Township were the goals of this job. All related drainage improvements, concrete curbs and sidewalks, installation of traffic signals, signs and pavement markings were part of the scope of the project. Construction of a mechanically stabilized earth retaining wall was necessary as well as a cast-in-place concrete wall and a soldier pile retaining wall. Dalrymple Gravel placed 120,000 tons of rock to stabilize the river bank, installed water lines, a sanitary sewer line, dry hydrant facilities, and electrical conduits. The beautification aspect involved landscaping and placing a pedestrian trail along the river.
